An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Well, even if I do not really eat an apple a day, the apple from Grade 1 made me feel warm.

Today, YYHS organised an activity to observe the 66th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. On the sports field students in Grade 1 and Grade 2 put a lot of apples together and spelled out “Peace China” and “I Love You 2015” using the fruit. As a matter of fact I felt it was unfair. When we were in Grade 1 and Grade 2, there was no such thing in the school.

When we were running round the schoolyard in the morning break, nice scents from the apples assembled on the sports field filled our nostrils. I started to resent the mistreatment to us Grade 3 students. While we slog every day without any amusement, the junior grades are having a good time.

Things started to change later in the day. Just now, two students from Class 15, Grade 2, who were carrying a basket of apples, came and knocked at our classroom door. They gave away an apple to each of us and wished us all good results next year.

The apple is round and red. Small as the fruit is, it still warms my heart in this depressing atmosphere of Grade 3.
